School Council Intent

Our school council consists of kind and honest children who all share the goal of striving for school improvement to make Langstone Infants (and ourselves) the best that we can be.

Our aim is to demonstrate Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)-

‘Every child has the right to have a say in all matters affecting them, and to have their views taken seriously.’

We are respectful to our school environment and to the views of all children within the school and provide a space for their opinions and ideas to be shared. By providing pupil voice, children feel empowered and involved in their education.

Through our meetings, children learn the skills of democracy and decision making. School Councillors inspire and motivate those around them to be ‘Excellent Everywhere’ through improving activities, the environment and generating ideas to have a wider impact in our school community.

Councillors are hard-working and attentive to ensure that the education at Langstone Infant School helps all of the children make the most out of their education and school experience.
