Red, White and Blue Day

Langstone Infant Academy was a sea of Red, White and Blue as the whole school dressed in the three colours for a special day.

Children and staff all donated £1 as part of the international day to support the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force with all donations going to Royal Navy & Royal Marines, ABF Soldiers charity and Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

Here is the fabulous picture of the whole school dressed in Red, White and Blue for our fundraising day.

Mrs Hudson, who is charge of celebrating British Values at the school, led a special assembly to mark the occasion.

She told the children about the origin of the Union Jack flag and about the important jobs carried out by the Army, Navy and Royal Airforce in our country.

Then Amelia in Class 1 helped Mrs Hudson introduce her Dad, Sam, who serves as a Sergeant in the Royal Artillery, to the whole school.

Sergeant Gowin has served all over the world in the Army and told the children about the amazing work carried out by the armed forces.

The children enjoyed hearing all about Sergeant Gowin's work and travels and how he hopes to be selected for the next Olympic Games as a Rapid Fire Pistol Shooter.

Mrs Hudson also told pupils that this year's campaign celebrates 100 years of women being in the military in the  Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS) and the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC).

Thank you to all who donated towards this worthwhile cause.
