Remembrance Day

Children and staff fell silent for two minutes on Remembrance Day to think about those who fought and died in conflict.

An assembly was held to teach the whole school about what Remembrance Day is and why it is so important to mark it.

Year 2 pupils put together a stunning display for the whole school to see as part of their lessons about Remembrance Day.

Here are some pictures of the display being created.

Year 2 children also went on a walk to the foreshore and stopped at the People’s Memorial where they laid a wreath that Class 8 had made.

Miss Poppleton read the poem ‘For the Fallen,' at the Memorial and we talked about the significance of Remembrance Day.

Thank you very much to the helpers that came with us – we wouldn’t have been able to go without them.
