Humanities Theme Week
Coming back to school on the 5th of November gave us a great opportunist to learn about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot. We used the week to have a focus humanities week with all year groups taking part.
Mrs Carter started the week off with an assembly all about it and then the children continued their learning back in their classes. All of the children learnt the story, they have acted it out, making freeze frames and using masks. The children have ordered and rewritten the story. Some children have written letters to Lord Monteagle warning of the plot.
There has been a lot of painting of firework pictures and making of fireworks. Year 2 choreographed a firework dance. The children have learnt about firework safety and created posters.
At the end of the week we all came together to share what we had learnt and the wonderful activities we took part in.
