World Book Day
Although it was a different World Book Day lots of children and staff came to school dressed up as book characters. The children took part on lots of lovely book related activities.
Year R did lots of work on ARGH Spider by Lydia Monks – which is not for the faint hearted!
Class 4 did lots of activities on The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Mrs Fitzgibbons came dressed as the caterpillar and Miss Budgen and Mrs Howson Baggott were butterflies.
Class 5 did lots of work on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which they are reading as their class reader, they made Golden tickets and designed chocolate bars.
Class 6
Class 7 worked on dinosaur stories, making dinosaur headdresses and excavating dinosaurs from the ice age.
Class 8 use Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell by Sue Hendra, as their inspiration and made felt snail, biscuits and salt dough snail which they painted.
Class 9 had great fun with their favourite books.
