The Great Fire of London Re-enactment

Year 2 children were asked to create a Tudor house for their half term holiday home learning project. The houses they made were wonderful.

In our topic learning we transformed the hall into Tudor London. The River Thames wound its way down the middle and the fabulous Tudor houses lined the river. We retold the story of the Great Fire of London and watched as the flames spread across the city. The houses caught fire and were then pulled down to stop the fire.

We learnt that the fire spread so quickly because of the wind, the wooden houses and because the houses were so close together.

We then rebuilt London, making sure that the road were a lot wider and there was space between the buildings.
